* This is a recipe for dogs.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour, plus 1/4 cup as needed and little extra for rolling.
  • 1 cup soy flour
  • 1/2 cup wheat bran
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup (about six slices) cooked, drained, crumbled bacon.

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flours, wheat bran and cheese. Add the applesauce, water, egg and bacon. Stir into dough. If the dough is very sticky, knead in an additional 1/4 cup of flour.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and with a floured or non-stick rolling pin, roll to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Place biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until brown. Store in an airtight container in the refridgerator.
