Oriental Raman Salad

When my husband and I were first married and dirt poor we often ate Raman Noodles. A diet of plain Raman Noodles doesn’t offer much nutrition so try this healthy recipe using raman noodles.

Ingredients:

Salad

  • 2 packages of Top Raman Noodles
  • 1 cup toasted almonds 
  • 1 package of coleslaw
  • 1 red pepper
  • Desired amount of Green Onion

Dressing

  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 packages Top Ramen seasoning packets
  • Dash of salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. Boil noodles for 2 minutes then rinse in cold water.
  2. Toss in almonds, coleslaw, red pepper and green onion.
  3. Top with dressing and refridgerate until ready to serve.

Super Easy Homemade Graham Cracker Crust

Making your own graham cracker crust is so easy and so much cheaper than buying a ready-made pie crust.

Ingredients:

  • 12 graham crackers
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Optional: dash of cinnamon, nutmeg or all-spice

Directions:

  1. Place the graham crackers inside a 1 gallon plastic bag then over the plastic bag roll the crackers with a rolling pin until the crackers are turned into crumbs.
  2. Melt the butter.
  3. Add the cracker crumbs and optional ingredients to butter, mix together.
  4. Press mixture onto pie plate or pan.
  5. If you would like to prebake the crust then bake at 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.

Pudding Frosting

sa400020.JPGThis frosting has a great flavour and it’s so easy to spread onto the cake.

Ingredients:

  • 1 - 4 serving package of pudding
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 6 - 10 tablespoons milk

Directions:

  1. Combine pudding mix, sugar, shortening and 2 tablespoons of milk into a mixing bowl. Mix with an electric mixer on low until ingredients are blended.
  2. Continue to mix at medium speed, adding the milk gradualy, 2 tablespoons at a time until you reach a desired consistency.
  3. Refridgerate for at least 5 minutes before spreading on cake.
