Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Combine the milk and vinegar and let stand.
  3. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  4. Add the milk mixture and the oil into dry ingredients and stir until just blended.
  5. Pour the batter into a lightly greased 9-inch square baking dish, and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
