  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon or 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 – 1/4 cups oatmeal
  • 1-3 cups white flour
  • 3 cups Whole wheat flour
  • One of my favourite breads to bake!

  • Mix warm water, salt, yeast, butter, sugar, 1 cup oat meal, 1 cup white flour and 3 cups whole wheat flour well.
  • On floured surface, knead for 10 – 15 minutes, add extra flour as needed.
  • Place in two greased loaf pans (or cookie sheet for rolls).
  • Cover and let rise until double (about 30 min). Sprinkle oats on top of loaf if desired.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min (18-25 min for rolls).
