Whole Wheat Oat Bread
- 2 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon or 1 pkg dry yeast
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 – 1/4 cups oatmeal
- 1-3 cups white flour
- 3 cups Whole wheat flour
- Mix warm water, salt, yeast, butter, sugar, 1 cup oat meal, 1 cup white flour and 3 cups whole wheat flour well.
- On floured surface, knead for 10 – 15 minutes, add extra flour as needed.
- Place in two greased loaf pans (or cookie sheet for rolls).
- Cover and let rise until double (about 30 min). Sprinkle oats on top of loaf if desired.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min (18-25 min for rolls).
